Liver Flush

The liver flush formula is there to improve liver function. This formula helps to treat jaundice, hepatitis C, nausea etc. The liver flush formula comprises of one to two freshly squeezed lemons, 200ml or a quarter cup of apple juice, 200ml of spring water,  a quarter inch of peeled and chopped fresh ginger root, one teaspoon of virgin olive oil and one crushed clove of fresh garlic.

The above ingredients are put in a blender and drink all of it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do this for two days.

The lemon juice  which is a citric acid will become alkaline in the stomach. The juice will therefore cleanse the digestive tract. The lemon juice also emulsifies the olive oil which has a cleansing action. The Ginger in the formula improves digestion.

Raw Food Herbs

There are some foods such as garlic, parsley, cayenne pepper etc that are considered both as foods and herbs as well. For instance garlic is a well known for its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. The benefit of these raw food herbs is that they can be taken as any normal food. Just like other herbs they have both nutritional value and also have curative powers as well and can be taken daily as food. As for pure herbs, they should only be taken when one is ill as they can be toxic and should only be taken under instructions of an experienced herbalist or by following the instructions on the pack in the case of factory prepared herbs. The raw food herbs can be taken without following any instructions just like any food.

One of the many benefits of eating raw food is that one will have access to a whole array of essential nutrients such as amino acids, vitamins etc that can be lost when food is cooked. Factory prepared herbs may in most cases lose some of their efficacy due to the heat and various processes they go.

Cure Sinusitis

Sinusitis refers to a condition in which there is inflammation of the sinus due to bacterial, or viral, or fungal infections. This usually leads to congestion  of the sinuses. Some of the symptoms of sinusitis are headaches, blocked nose, loss of smell and thick mucus which is usually yellow or green. Luckily there some herbal formulas that can cure sinusitis. These herbs include wild garlic, horseradish, elecampane, ground ivy, elderflower and mint.

How to Cure Sinusitis with Medicinal Herbs.

Eating garlic leaves and at least two cloves of garlic three times a day can beat the infection. Even though the body odor resulting from eating garlic is not pleasant, it is probably the most effective remedy for treating bacterial and viral infections.

Another remedy would be to take horseradish syrup to stimulate circulation of the sinuses. Horseradish can also be taken as a condiment with your food.

Drinking infusions of ground ivy, golden mint and elderflower six times a day is another remedy that will reduce nasal congestion and tone the mucous membranes of the nose.

chilblains

Chilblains is a condition affecting the blood vessels as a result of blood vessels of the extremities that get constricted by cold and damp weather and are then warmed too quickly. The vessels do not dilate very quickly resulting in blood being forced into the tissues resulting in the uncomfortable conditions of itching burning, and redness. There some herbs that can help to stabilize the situation and prevent constriction. Tissue healing herbs and anti-inflammatory herbs speed up recovery and help to minimise the symptoms.

Some of the herbs that one can use to cure oneself from chilblains are wild garlic, cramp bark, hawthorn, yarrow and lime.

How to Use Medicinal Herbs in Treating Chilblains

To improve blood flow one needs to include garlic in the diet.
One can also apply topically yarrow or horseradish infused oil to the affected chilblains to stimulate circulation.
For restorative effects on the walls on the blood vessels one needs to take tea made up of equal parts of limeflower and hawthorn tops.

5 Killer Spices Against E Coli in Meat

Micro biologist Dr Daniel Y C Fung who is also the professor of Food Science in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at Kansas State University says researches he has led at the university have shown that there are five "killer spices" that make ground beef safer. These spices are garlic, cinnamon, oregano, cloves and sage.

The studies showed that two to five teaspoons of garlic powder added to ground meat can provide protection against the potentially deadly strains of E Coli (Eschelichia coli) in undercooked food products. Daniel Y C Fung says, " garlic or other natural spices can give an additive protection to heating and other treatments. He however warned that while garlic and other spices provided "added measure of safety" they  should not be a substitute for good cooking practices. Meat should be cooked at 160 F for safety. I would however urge the readers to consider dropping meat entirely in their diet, not only for the e coli which can also be found in vegetable like the case of the cucumbers, but because nowadays meat is full of all the toxins and injected and natural hormones that can destroy our health.

The studies showed that 1 percent (2-5 teaspoons) garlic powder to about two pounds of ground beef kills 90-97 percent of the E. coli.7.5 percent clove mixture to ground beef kills about 99 percent of the E. coli. As little as 3 percent plum extract to ground beef kills more than 90 percent of major food-borne pathogens and enhances meat's moistness without altering meat's flavor. The more reason why we should always have garlic in our salads and all diets. Besides being antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal etc garlic is rich in antioxidants that clean the body from free radicals that can harm our bodies and lead to cancer

E coli Escherichia coli and Cinnamon, Garlic and Echinacea

Cinnamon leaf

In view of the new virulent E. coli (Escherichia coli) spread in Europe at the moment I have done some research on E. coli and found an interesting article from Science Daily of 6th August 1999. The article reported on a study that showed that cinnamon is a lethal weapon against E.coli O157:H7 (Escherichia coli). We therefore need to keep some cinnamon nearby and use it to protect our bodies from being infected by this E coli strain and also to cure ourselves if infected. Scientist are already reporting that antibiotics cannot deal effectively with this new strain and may in some cases worsen the situation.

We should also bear in mind that Garlic is also very effective against bacteria and viruses and should now be taken liberally to ward off this threat. When taken together with Echinacea, garlic is a very effective remedy against any bacteria and virus. Echinacea boosts the body's Immune system while garlic kills bacteria or viruses on contact.

Lead researcher of the Cinnamon study Erdogan Ceylan, M.S., reported that in apple juice samples inoculated with about one million E. coli O157:H7 bacteria, about one teaspoon (0.3 percent) of cinnamon killed 99.5 percent of the bacteria in three days at room temperature (25 C). When the same amount of cinnamon was combined with either 0.1 percent sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate, preservatives approved by the Food and Drug Administration, the E. coli were knocked out to an undetectable level. The number of bacteria added to the test samples was 100 times the number typically found in contaminated food.

"This research indicates that the use of cinnamon alone and in combination with preservatives in apple juice, besides its flavoring effect, might reduce and control the number of E. coli O157:H7," concluded Ceylan, a Ph.D. graduate assistant at K-State. "Cinnamon may help protect consumers against foodborne bacteria that may be in unpasteurized juices and may partially or completely replace preservatives in foods to maintain their safety," he said.

In another study  Daniel Y.C. Fung, Ph.D., professor of Food Science in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at K-State, researched the antimicrobial effects of various spices on E. coli O157:H7 in raw ground beef and sausage and found that cinnamon, clove, and garlic were the most powerful. This research led to their recent studies on cinnamon in apple juice, which proved to be a more effective medium than meat for the spice to kill the bacteria.

"In liquid, the E. coli have nowhere to hide," Fung noted, "whereas in a solid structure, such as ground meat, the bacteria can get trapped in the fat or other cells and avoid contact with the cinnamon. But this cannot happen in a free-moving environment."

These studies further strengthen the belief among many herbalists of the efficacy and the power of garlic, cinnamon and even echinacea which has been shown in other studies to boost the body's immune system by inducing the production of among others T Cells. Echinacea also induces the production phagocytes to fight off any infection.  Let us keep these formidable forces of nature nearby as we face these mutated germs. Blood Detoxification or Cleanse

Blood is the key body liquid or fluid which transports substances throughout the body. It delivers the nutrients from the food we eat to areas of the body that need it and assists the body in eliminating waste by transporting it to the organs such as kidneys, lungs, liver and skin that expel the waste from the body. Due to the high fat diets that we eat we end up overwhelming the body with all sorts of toxins and the blood is not spared from this as well. That is the reason we need blood detoxification or cleanse or cleansing to assist it get rid of the toxins that may cause sickness.

Bronchitis Herbal Treatment

Dr Richard Schulze, a foremost authority on Herbal Medicine and other alternative methods of healing such as hydrotherapy or water therapy treatments in the world today recommends the use of echinacea and garlic in treating bronchitis. Dr Schulze operated an Alternative Medical Clinic for 20 years and experienced first hand the herbs and dosages that really work in treating diseases even incurable diseases. Echinacea has been proven in scientific studies to be a very good at stimulating the body's immune system. Garlic is antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal and antiseptic and will therefore get rid of the viruses or or bacteria causing the bronchitis. Dr Schulze has developed Echinacea plus tincture that you can buy to take to prevent bronchitis and to treat it.

How Echinacea and Garlic Are Used To Treat Bronchitis.
  • The Raw Garlic and Echinacea Herb: According to Dr Richard Schulze echinacea root and Garlic bulb, fresh or dried, can be chewed and eaten raw. Chew a one inch piece of Echinacea root every waking hour or two. This will make your mouth tingle a lot and take you awhile to pulverize it enough to swallow.
  • Dr Richard Schulze says while herbal capsules made from dried and powdered herbs are considered by most clinical herbalists, himself included, to be the least effective way to treat patients. In fact, they often don’t work at all. You can however try Dr Richard Schulze formulas such as Echinacea plus as they are made to be as powerful as possible especially the tinctures such as the Dr Schulze Echinacea plus
  • Dr Schulze says with garlic there is really no limit as regards the dosage. He says the only sign of overdose is gastric upset and maybe a loss of all your friends. Dr Schulze gives the following patient testimony on the use of much garlic, "Don’t be a wimp! Last year I received a letter from an elderly woman who was dying from a viral lung infection. She’d had the condition for over a year and all the doctors and drugs had not helped her. The doctors gave her only weeks left to live. She read an article I wrote on Garlic and immediately consumed 47 cloves of raw garlic a day for three days. Shortly thereafter, her so-called incurable viral respiratory infection was gone. By the way, she was 83 years old.

  • Garlic and Echinacea Herbal Tea: Simmer a heaping tablespoon of fresh Echinacea root and a level teaspoon of fresh Garlic bulb in 20 ounces of distilled water. Cool and drink this amount three times daily.
  • Tinctures: Dr Richard Schulze says tinctures are very popular amongst clinical herbalists and are, without exception, the strongest, most concentrated, fastest acting way to use herbs. Echinacea tincture is one of the easiest ways to treat a cold and flu. He, however, warns us to be careful when purchasing tinctures: most on the market are of poor quality and will be of little benefit to you.

Dosage of Echinace Tinctures For Treating Bronchitis

Dr Richard Schulze recommends double the dosages that most herbalists suggest. He says these dosages were the ones the created successful healings in his clinic . He says echinacea must be taken steadily for over a period of about a week for maximum immune protection. He says the body needs a certain amount of the phytochemicals in your bloodstream every day to get maximum results and supercharge your immune system.

For those not sick but who want to boost their immune system for preventative purposes, Dr schulze recommends two dropperfuls, about 60 drops, five times daily until you have consumed two fluid ounces or 60 milliliters. This will take about seven days. Do this at the beginning of each month for the best prevention.

For those not having specific symptoms of bronchitis but feeling that they could be about to get sick he recommends four dropperfuls, about 120 drops, five times daily until you have consumed two fluid ounces or 60 milliliters. This will take three to four days. Start immediately.

For those having fever, chills or any any of the symptoms of Bronchitis, Cold or Flu—Use four dropperfuls, about 120 drops, eight times daily (or every other waking hour) until you have consumed two fluid ounces or 60 milliliters. This will take about two days. You may continue this dosage for a week and then reduce it.

For those with high Fever, Sore Throat, Yellow Mucous, Coughing, Sneezing—Use four dropperfuls, about 120 drops, every hour you are awake (about 16 times a day) until you have consumed two fluid ounces or 60 milliliters. This will take about one day. You may do this for two to three days before you lower your dose.

Drugs are not supposed to be taken forever, once you are well you need to stop and only take them when needed or for seven days at the beginning of the month for preventive purposes.

Herbs For HIV

There have been of late a number of herbs that have proven effective against HIV at least in the laboratory. The main herbs for HIV treatment  are echinacea, aloe vera, pau d'arco, and garlic. Prominent herbalist have used these herbs in combination with hydrotherapy treatment or fever therapy treatments, colon cleansing and a change of diet to a vegan diet for treating HIV.

Dr Richard Schulze in a post entitled HIV/Aids Natural Remedies: HIV/Aids Curable? reports on cases where patients who have gone through his incurables program that includes among other remedies, the herbs above  have gone for tests that have shown that the virus is no longer in the blood. Whether the HIV virus is completely eliminated or just hiding somewhere in the body is another matter. The fact is the virus is no longer traceable in the laboratory. And as long as it is not active in the body then someone can enjoy a healthy life. The full Dr Schulze incurables programs is explained in the book There are No Incurable Diseases

How To Do Colonic Hydrotherapy: Colon Cleanse

Even though neglected by modern medicine digestive system and colon health is an important area that needs to be addressed. One reason why it is very important is the discovery in recent times that more than 60% of the body's immune system is located along the alimentary canal running from the mouth to the anus. If we are to have an effective immune system then we need to improve the health of the colon by our diets and getting rid of old faecal matter that may be stuck in the intestines causing all sorts of problem.

Colon cleansing, colonic irrigation or colonic hydrotherapy have helped many people to cure themselves from diseases such as migraines, cancer etc that previously were unrelated to such conditions. If you do not have enough bowel movements your intestines could lead to bowel pockets that could lead old faecal matter being absorbed back into the blood stream. Another neglected fact is that the food we eat whether vegetables or meat have all sorts of parasites that may end up staying on in the body if they are not gotten rid of very fast.

Unfortunately due to our high fat diet most people do not have the recommended 2-3 bowel movements resulting in faecal matter overstaying in the intestines resulting in the rise of worms, and accumulation of toxins in the body. This could also result in various cancers such as colon cancer or leaky gut syndrome due to the impeded immune system in the body. Most vegans and those in primitive areas who eat less meat do not experience digestive problems that are troubling our affluent communities.

As a solution to such digestive problems colonic hydrotherapy or colon cleanse are becoming popular to improve bowel movement. Medical Herbalist such as Dr Richard Schulze insist on colon cleanse when dealing with incurable diseases such as cancer. Some people  have defeated cancer by doing a colon cleanse or hydrotherapy and adopting a vegan diet.  In the following article Dr Agatha Thrash teaches on how a colon cleanse or hydrotherapy can be done at home.

What Are Poultices And How Are They Used?

In the following article Agatha Thrash, MD explains the meaning of poultice and how they and how they are used. Poultices can be used to treat all sorts of infections as she explains below.

Agatha M. Thrash, M.D.

Preventive Medicine
The definition of a poultice is a compress containing an active ingredient applied wet for a considerable period of time, one to twenty-four hours. In the past poultices have been much used and misused, almost every classification of material having been used in making poultices including kerosene and gasoline, various leafy herbals, garlic, mustard, onion, potato peel, charcoal, sand, clay, and various proprietary salves. Most of those listed have some beneficial effect, but some are useless and a simple wet cloth would have worked as well or better. The simple wet cloth is called a heating compress.
One of the beneficial effects of a poultice is the development of heat within the poultice from body heat. Anything applied to the skin, wet or cold or cool, will cause a reaction of the blood vessels of the skin, bringing more blood into the area and gradually raising the temperature of the skin. This elevation of the skin temperature causes an immigration of white blood cells into the area which improves the health and general cleanliness of the tissues involved. In this way, heating compresses can be beneficial to the throat, chest, a boil, an arthritic joint, and many other inflamed or irritated areas. If an active material such as charcoal, smartweed, or other such active herbals or medications are used, the beneficial effects of the heating compress can be increased.
The effect of the medication used to make the poultice should be considered. The active ingredient in smartweed is an enzyme giving a peppery feel to the tongue, and causing a slight irritant effect on the skin which increases the flow of blood to the area. The way to prepare the poultice is to take a handful of smartweed (a common garden pest), crush it in a blender with a bit of water, spread it on a cloth or folded paper towel, apply it to the throat in sore throats, the abdomen in stomach aches, or an arthritic joint or a boil; put a plastic sheet cut from an ordinary bread bag over it to completely cover and prevent evaporation, if heat is desired to accumulate. Wrap the entire area with a bandage to fix the poultice and plastic in place and hold in the heat.
The effect of charcoal is that it absorbs toxic materials from the skin. The lessened molecular content of toxic materials near the more superficial area of the skin induces a "flow" of toxic materials toward the surface of the skin from the deeper tissues. In using a charcoal poultice in cases of kidney disease in which the urinary wastes are building up in the bloodstream, the urinary wastes pass through the skin into the charcoal poultice. After several hours the poultice has a strong smell resembling urine.
A charcoal poultice may be placed over a boil or an area of dermatitis, poison ivy, insect stings, and the like. The way to make the poultice is to mix powdered charcoal in water to the thickness of a paste and spread it on a piece of old linen or folded paper towel. Place it directly on the skin if desired, or put one thickness of cloth or paper toweling between the poultice and the skin, making certain that the thickness next to the skin is moist by the poultice; leave it on overnight and remove in the morning. Upon removal of the poultice the area should be sponged with cold water, alcohol, or rubbed gently with a cold cloth.
A goldenseal compress or poultice is made by putting 1 teaspoon of goldenseal leaves or 1/4 teaspoon of powdered root in 1 cup of water. Bring it almost to a boil. Allow to set off the fire for 15 minutes. Dip a folded linen or paper towel in the tea to saturate but not drip. Place directly on the skin. Goldenseal has a slightly astringent effect and is helpful in various kinds of eczema, dermatitis, and chronic superficial infections.
Comfrey makes a very soothing compress. Comfrey is a wild herb and is also planted in gardens. It will grow luxuriantly in a flower box or in a bed in the yard. Once a lady accidentally cut a large flap wound on her leg just under the knee requiring some 15 stitches placed in a horseshoe shape. She had severe pain in the wound. Flap injuries are more difficult to heal because the blood flow has been interrupted on three sides. On the second day after placement of the sutures the flap began to turn purplish and look very unhealthy. It appeared that a slough might occur, and the wound gave constant pain, throbbing congestion, and inflammation. The lady had no confidence in poultices and grudgingly submitted to its application. For the previous 24 hours she had not slept, had not stopped moving, but rolled from one side of the bed to the other in constant pain. Immediately upon application of the poultice which was laid right over her three day old sutures she stated that the poultice felt soothing and cool, giving a bit of relief from the pain. Within ten minutes the patient was sound asleep, the pain being entirely alleviated. Since this patient refused all medications on the basis of multiple drug sensitivities, we were certain that the good effects came from the poultice.
While a mixture of clay and glycerin is sold under a variety of names, it can be used as a home remedy. Clay may be obtained from a hillside by digging off the topsoil and obtaining clean clay underneath. If desired, the clay can be dried and sterilized in the oven, kept on hand constantly in the dried condition without danger of growing mold, bacteria, or in any other way becoming spoiled. When it is time to use the clay poultice, a portion can be mixed with water to the consistency of a thick paste and spread on cloth or folded paper toweling and applied in the same way as charcoal, comfrey, or other poultices. If a poultice is used on dermatitis, no plastic material should be used, but select a wool or synthetic scarf or covering which is impervious to water, allowing gradual evaporation of the water over many hours. Quick evaporation is occasionally desired in cases that are weeping, cracked, or irritated.
Flaxseed and charcoal may be used on sloughing ulcers or wounds. Use three tablespoons of powdered charcoal, three tablespoons or ground flaxseed and one cup of water. Thicken by bringing almost to a boil while stirring and apply in the usual way.

How To Grow Your Own Herbs Indoors

In the following video presentation the presenter gives a demonstration on how to grow your own herbs indoors. As you might be aware the most powerful are fresh herbs and the freshest obviously are the ones you can grow on your own indoors in your own house. The commercial herbs are effective but they cannot compare to fresh herbs which have all the healing properties intact as they still have life in them. For instance fresh garlic cloves are more powerful than the garlic we get from pharmacies which is sometimes heated and processed in such a way that some healing properties are lost. The factory processed herbs while still  effective, simply cannot compare to fresh herbs grown indoors in your own home. So if you can learn how to grow your own herbs.

How To Grow Your Own Garlic

The following video demonstration teaches us how to grow garlic at home. Garlic is one of the most used natural health remedy because of its proven anti bacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Garlic is natures' penecillin. As a member of the onion family garlic is also rich in antioxidants which help destroy free radicals in the body-particles that can damage cell membranes and interact with genetic material.

Garlic is regarded both as a member of the allium family just as onions are and also as a lily family member. So garlic will grow where onions and lilies will grow.
