Healing Foods


Honey




Honey contains B vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is good for sore throats, coughs and colds; healing wounds; hay fever. You are however warned not to give honey to children under 12 months as it can cause infant botulism






Ginger contains Vitamin A and B2 (riboflavin), iron, phosphorus, potassium. It is good for treating nausea, food poisoning, motion sickness, vertigo, respiratory ailments , menstrual pain and lowering blood cholesterol.






Carrots are rich in in Vitamin A (beta-carotene), B and C, iron, and fibre. It is useful for eye health, healthy skin, gum disease, asthma and respiratory problems and protecting against cancer.


Garlic


Garlic is rich in Vitamins A, B, C, calcium, potassium, iron, selenium. It is very helpful in fighting infection, relieving cold, bronchitis, congestion, fungal infections, protecting against food poisoning, lowering cholestrol and high blood pressure, asthma, diarrhoea and indigestion.


Onions.





Onions are rich in Vitamin Ca and potassium. They are especially helpful in fighting chest infections, lowering blood pressure, diabetes and preventing cancer.
