Restless Leg Syndrome

According to pubMed Health Restless leg syndrome is a disorder in which there is an urge or need to move the legs to stop unpleasant sensations. The condition is characterised by twitchy legs, especially at night. It is mostly commonly seen in women and the elderly. It can however be passed on in the family and affected the young as well. The unpleasant sensation in the leg is described as creeping, crawling, aching, pulling, searing, tingling, bubbling, or crawling and could last for about an hour. Conventional medicine provides no cure for this condition.

Some medicinal herbs can be used to cure restless leg syndrome and some of them are lime, valerian, oat, chamomile, St John's Wort and Cramp bark.

How to use medicinal herbs to cure Restless Leg Syndrome.

One can take a mix of equal parts of St John's wort, oat and limeflower tinctures three times a day.

To have some sleep at night which is a big problem for those suffering from restless leg syndrome, the patient has to take a tincture mix composed of equal parts of hops and valerian and take up to one half fl oz before going to sleep.

Every evening before going to bed the patient must massage the calf muscles with liniment of 2 parts chamomile infused oil and one part of cramp bark or valerian.

Incontinence

Incontinence is the loss of bladder control that affects 13 million Americans and is twice as likely to affect women than men. The causes include damage to the supporting muscles and ligaments of the bladder resulting from childbirth or pregnancy or trauma, recurrent and acute infections. Child enuresis or bedwetting could also cause incontinence. Considering that there are different causes of incontinence, medicinal herb remedies must therefore depend on the cause. Some of the medicinal herbs that are used to treat incontinence are horsetail, plantain, shepherd's purse and St John's wort.

Medicinal Herb formulas to treat Incontinence.

If the incontinence resulted from childbirth and the stress it caused on the bladder, then taking shepherd's purse tea or tincture will help to tone the ligaments surrounding the bladder.

In the case where there is nerve irritation or damage, then one needs to St John's wort tea and in cases of symptoms indicating chronic cystitis, one needs to take plantain tea.

In order to restore damaged tissues of the bladder, take horsetail juice or tea for its high silica content.

Other natural remedies

I got the following natural remedy for stress incontinence for women that I got from WebMD is the following exercise:-

"because stress incontinence stems from weak pelvic muscles, an excellent defense is to strengthen the muscles around the urethral closure. You can do this through Kegel exercises: Clench the muscles you would use to stop the flow of urine. Hold the squeeze for 10 seconds, then relax. Do three or four sets every day. As these muscles grow stronger, so will your bladder control."

How To Treat Burns

Burns

There are various herbs that can help in curing or treating burns by reducing the pain from damaged nerves, stimulating new tissue growth and reduce the risk of infection. Some of those herbs for treating burns are comfrey, yarrow and St John's wort.

How to treat burns:

  • Since burns result from contact with hot substances or chemicals or friction the best is to put the burn under cold water until the burning stops.
  • Soak a clean gauze or cotton into and infusion of yarrow and comfrey and place on the burn. You may need to replace every few hours. This is when there is blistering.
  • In cases where no blistering occurs then use St John's oil for faster healing.

Cowslip

Cowslip primula officinalis is one of the most helpful herbs that forms a major part of a special tea of insomnia tea that has helped a lot of people who have found no relief from conventional medicines. I have just finished reading an amazing story struggled with insomnia for years without solution with conventional medicine. The story is in Maria Treben's Health Through God's pharmacy  which I would recommend to anyone seeking powerful herbal formulas for diseases that conventional medicine is failing to treat. Maria Treben met this insomnia patient on 7th December 1976 and he was close to a nervous breakdown when she suggested this excellent tea for insomnia. He tried it and seven days later Maria Treben met his friends who told her that the patient could now sleep again after a long period in which he felt a pain -as if someone was stubbing him with a cigarettee whenever he tried to sleep. He further lost this pain due to this cowslip tea.

Below are the ingredients for this excellent tea for insomnia:
Below are the steps in the preparation of Cowslip Insomnia tea:-
