How To Treat Burns

Burns

There are various herbs that can help in curing or treating burns by reducing the pain from damaged nerves, stimulating new tissue growth and reduce the risk of infection. Some of those herbs for treating burns are comfrey, yarrow and St John's wort.

How to treat burns:

  • Since burns result from contact with hot substances or chemicals or friction the best is to put the burn under cold water until the burning stops.
  • Soak a clean gauze or cotton into and infusion of yarrow and comfrey and place on the burn. You may need to replace every few hours. This is when there is blistering.
  • In cases where no blistering occurs then use St John's oil for faster healing.
