Tamarind Tamarindus indica

Tamarind fruit is a fruit that can be used as a medicinal herb to treat constipation in children and as a gentle laxatives. Being a fruit means that it is one of the safest herbs to use. Tamarind scientific name is tamarindus indica. Phytochemical studies into tamarind have shown that the presence of  tanninssaponinssesquiterpenesalkaloids and phlobatamins and other extracts active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, at temperatures of 4–30 °C (39–86 °F).

There has been research that has shown that taking tamarind increases the availability of ibuprofen in the body. This could mean that patients with arthritis can reduce theirs aspirin and pain relieving medication intake.

How to use Tamarind for Medicinal purposes.

For constipation fresh or dried tamarind fruit can be made into a pleasant drink. Tamarind drink will open the bowels and relieve constipation.

In other countries tamarind is also to treat diarrhea, conjunctivitis, gall bladder disorders and many other ailments.

Quaking Aspen populus tremuloides

Quaking Aspen populus tremuloides herb is famous for it salicin content in the bark which has aspirin like properties. It is native to North America and is at home isn damp and moist areas. The bark of Quaking Aspen populus tremuloides is the one used for medicinal purposes. Quaking Aspen bark constituents are, phenolic glycosides which includes salicin and populin, and tannins. These constituents are what make Quaking Aspen to have fever reducing, pain relieving and anti inflammatory properties similar to aspirin.

Quaking Aspen can be used to treat arthritic anfd rheumatic aches and pains. It can also be used to treat diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome and urinary tract infections.
