Celery Apium Graveolens and Arthritis

Celery and Arthritis
Celery Apium graveolens is widely used in the Western world especially in European countries to treat arthritis and other rheumatic problems. Celery contains a very volatile oil which is responsible for stimulating the kidneys to  get rid of waste materials. It is also responsible for assisting the body to rid itself of urates and other salts that usually cause inflammation and stiffness within muscles. As a diuretic it is also responsible for clearing fluid accumulation which is sometimes caused by arthritis. The parts of celery responsible for this detoxification are the stem, leaf and seed.

Being a vegetable celery is one of the safest herbal remedies available. It can be taken as part of your vegetable intake or as a juice which is the most potent as cooking destroys some nutrients and enzymes in food. It can also be taken as tincture, capsule or tablet. It is often used with Willow Bark
