Hiatus Hernia

A hiatus hernia occurs when the stomach bulges up into the chest, allowing food from the stomach to go up back into the oesophagus.

Symptoms  Hiatus Hernia


  • heartburn
  • indigestion
  • belching
  • Burning sensation due to the acid originating from the stomach coming into contact with the delicate oesophagal membrane. This can in the long term lead to oesophagal ulcers
Treatment for hiatus hernia
  • drinking aloe vera juice, three times a day
  • Zinc rich foods are also essential for tissue repair. Good sources of zinc include pumpkin seeds and wholegrains.
  • Taking activated charcoal three times a day.
  • Doing an alternating hot and cold shower
