Energy Foods: How To Prepare An Energy Pancake

In the following video Kyong Weathersby and her husband Larry present a demonstration on how to make an energy pancake for breakfast. Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day as it marks the beginning of the day. Unfortunately tradition has made lunch more important than breakfast when we actually need more energy when we are starting the day than at midday. One way to reverse this unfortunate trend is to have a good breakfast by for example taking these energy pancakes and other natural energy foods.

Below is the recipe for energy pancakes.

1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. unbleached white flour
1/4 c. soy milk powder
1/4 c. ground flaxseeds
1/4 c. wheat germ
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 Tbsp. Ener-G baking powder
1/4 c. turbinado sugar
2 1/4 c. water
2 Tbsp. canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla

In a medium bowl, stir dry ingredients together. Stir in water, vanilla and oil. Heat and lightly oil skillet. Add 1/4 c.batter for each pancake, and fry until bubbles form. Turn and cook until lightly browned on both sides.
