Osteoporosis also known a brittle bone disease is the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. It is caused by demineralization of the bones, causing weakness. One of the symptoms of osteoporosis is bone pain or tenderness. The bones easily fracture and the spine can compress at the vertebrae collapse. It is mostly common in women in menopause . Low calcium diet and high alcohol intake are some of the risk factors for osteoporosis.
Herbs that can help in dealing or curing osteoporosis are horsetail, comfrey, oat and nettle.
To increase mineral content in the body one needs to take nettle tea at least three times a day. Nettle is very rich in minerals.
Since the bones are weak, taking silica rich horsetail juice twice a day will help strengthen the bones. In case of fractures, use comfrey topically and comfrey infusion internally for short periods.
