Studies have recently shown that liberal use of some medicinal pesticidal lotions we get from the chemist to combat head lice have resulted in cases of toxicity. There are however some home remedies from the herbal and plant that are as effective without being toxic that can help in treating head lice.

Head lice home remedies

•  Add two or three drops of Essential oil of Thyme to a table spoon of a bland shampoo and mix well. Massage into the wet hair and scalp. Leave for 5 minutes and afterwards rinse thoroughly with warm water
• After the above treatment rinse the hair with equal parts of warm water and cider vinegar to deal with the lice eggs that may be embedded in the pores of the scalp
• Repeat this treatment everyday until the lice is gone.
• Make sure you apply tea tree oil to the comb for safe keeping.
