Apple Cider Vinegar For Itchy Scalp

The following post is entitled Apple Cider Vinegar for itchy scalp and provides useful information for curing or treating itchy scalp by using apple cider vinegar.

Causes of itchy scalp range from dry skin to fungal infection and Apple cider vinegar is one of the most effective ways of treating itchy scalp. This is because of the anti fungal and anti bacterial properties of apple cider vinegar which will deal with the root causes of the itchy scalp.

A straight forward way of treating itchy scalp is to apply apple cider vinegar to the root of your hair and allow it to stand for 30 minutes before washing your hair. As stated above the apple cider vinegar will kill bacteria and fungi that might be causing the itchy scalp.

Another way is to combine apple cider vinegar with other herbs such as rosemary, lavender, lemon and sage.  You do it by first putting two teaspoons of the herb in a muslin cloth and pour boiling water over the herb to infuse them. Mix the resultant herbal infusion with apple cider vinegar and apply it to the scalp and rinse after 30 minutes.

For those that do not have the time to prepare the above, then the other solution is to buy Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse Roots 8 Ounces and use it to treat your itchy scalp. Another product is the Fekkai Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo 8 oz.

I also found the following testimony on the curezone website from someone who used Apple cider vinegar to treat an itchy patch:

"So I had this patch on my scalp that was so itchy, constantly itch, itch, itching. I found a post that said try ACV as a rinse. Wow!! what a difference, I have been using it and my scalp is much improved, not healed completely yet...but MUCH better! YA! My hair is so soft, I smell like vinegar but who cares, it is working for me."

I also found some advice on the treatment of dandruff and itchy scalp using apple cider vinegar and other natural remedies:

The following natural remedies will help put you "head and shoulders" above the commercially available toxic formulas:

Dilute 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar (organic is preferable) with I/2 cup of water. Apply to scalp being careful not to get solution in the eyes or on the face then rinse. Repeat the treatment until condition disappears. You may need to repeat daily for a week. Alternatively you can purchase our Organic Herbal Toner and use neat.

Warm 1/2 a cup of jojoba or cold pressed olive oil on low heat in a small saucepan and apply to the scalp (test temperature first). For best results leave in over night then brush the hair and scalp thoroughly. Shampoo out as normal. You may need to repeat this treatment 1-2 times a week until the condition alleviates.

White clay is excellent for scalp disorders such as dandruff, psoriasis and alopecia. Mix 1/2 a cup of white clay with water. Water should be added gradually until a smooth paste is achieved. Coat the hair and scalp with clay and leave to dry. You may want to wrap the hair in cling wrap. Shampoo out as normal. Repeat as necessary.

The following essential oils may be added to the oil and clay treatments for their beneficial effects on the scalp and hair: Clary sage, Geranium, Lavender, Rosemary, Sandalwood & Ylang Ylang.

Try ACV apple cider vinegar. It may just be the solution for you!!!
