Benefits of Goldenseal

Goldenseal (Orange-rootOrangerootHydrastis canadensis) is a perennial herb in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to southeastern Canada and the northeastern United States. It may be distinguished by its thick, yellow knotted rootstock. The stem is purplish and hairy above ground and yellow below ground where it connects to the yellow rhizome. The plant bears two palmate, hairy leaves with 5–7 double-toothed lobes and single, small, inconspicuous flowers with greenish white stamens in the late spring. It bears a single berry like a large raspberry with 10–30 seeds in the summer

Use Against Sinus Infection

Dr Richard Schulze recommends the snorting of a combination of golden seal root, bayberry, cayenne and garlic in treating sinus infection

Use against Peptic Ulcers

Golden seal has been shown in studies to be effective against helicobacter pylori a germ found in 60% of peptic ulcer patients and believed by some to be the cause of peptic ulcers. It is recommended to use;a tincture of golden seal and echinacea, one teaspoonful every hour for six hours; then one teaspoonful every four hours - you must wake up at night to take it - then six teaspoons a day until a bottle containing eight ounces has been taken

For temporary relief of a toothache
