Symptoms of E Coli

Considering that the emergence of a virulent form of E Coli is worrying most people I thought I would discuss some of the symptoms of E Coli as obtained from various sources. Once I would like to remind readers that Garlic, cinnamon and Echinacea have been shown to be very effective against the E Coli bacteria. I therefore urge readers to start taking Echinacea whether in tablet , capsule or tincture to strengthen the body's immune system. Preferably I would urge readers to it in tincture form if available as  a tincture preserves most of the efficacy of echinacea. Also take a lot of cinnamon and garlic which are known to kill E Coli bacteria. Read more of this in my previous post  E coli Escherichia coli and Cinnamon, Garlic and Echinacea. Symptoms of E Coli (Escherichia Coli) infection include:-

  • Stomach cramps
  • Low fever
  • Nausea
  • vomiting
  • bloody diarrhoea
While E Coli infection is mild in most people complications can arise in a few resulting in a condition known as   hemolytic uremic syndrome HUS. Symptoms for Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome include:-

  • decreased frequency of urination
  • fatigue
  • Losing colour in cheeks and inside lower eyelids
These complications can lead to kidney failure as the E Coli bacteria may move from the intestines to attack the kidney and also infect the blood. E coli is normally confined to the intestines in most people, it almost always becomes more dangerous and life threatening if it moves to the kidneys and blood. Even though cucumbers have been implicated in the recent E Coli scare, the most common cause of E coli infection in humans is cattle.
