Home Remedies For Chickenpox

Chicken pox is caused by a virus known as varicella zoster. It usually attacks children and results in hundreds of itchy, fluid-filled blisters that burst and form crusts.

At the beginning of the illness, a deep, quite warm bath for 15 minutes brings out the pox rapidly, makes the lesions get smaller and fade faster. Observe the usual care to keep the bowels open, the diet light and the patient reasonably quiet and sheltered. Use a spinal pack daily to stimulate the circulation and white blood cell activity, and to soothe the patient. It is not necessary to keep the patient bedfast, but just quiet. Prevent scratching the lesions and watch the pox for infection. Should it occur combat infection in the pox in the same manner as for impetigo.
