Heal Conjunctivitis Naturally

Conjunctivitis (also called pink eye or madras eye) is the swelling or inflammation of the conjunctiva (the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids).  It is most commonly due to an infection (usually viral, but sometimes bacterial) or an allergic reaction.

How To Cure Conjunctivitis Naturally

Use small, ice cold compresses that are changed every two or three minutes for half an hour, discontinued for 30 to 60 minutes and reapplied for half an hour. Occasional applications of heat may enable the patient to continue the ice cold compresses more comfortably. During the cold applications to the eyes, a derivative effect may be produced by applying heat to the sides of the face and the chin and mouth. If the conjunctivitis becomes chronic, change the treatment to alternating hot and cold compresses-three minutes of hot compresses, and 30 seconds of cold compresses, repeated four times. Saline irrigations may be used to cleanse the eyes, if necessary, using the same procedure as for nasal irrigations. A Charcoal poultice over the eyes at night is also helpful.
