How To Induce A Fever

Below is a video demonstration on how to induce a fever artificially. The video begins with the benefits of artificially inducing a fever and then the various ways of doing it. Normal fever results from the body's reaction to an infection and helps the body fight off disease. Therefore rather than being an enemy fever is a good thing in so far as disease prevention is concerned.

Fever is part of the body's arsenal in the immune system. This can however be artificiallly induced by doing a fever therapy or hydrotherapy i.e. using water to treat diseases. You can search my blog for various posts I have posted on hydrotherapy for more information.

Autoimmune Disorders Fever Therapy

Autoimmune disorders arise from an overactive immune response occurs when the ones immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body cells. Some of the more than 80 autoimmune disorders diseases are Celiac disease, Crohn's disease,  and Ulcerative colitis (GI tract), lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Fever therapy or treatments can be used effectively against autoimmune diseases. This works by increasing artificially the body temperature resulting in the increase of phagocytic action and normalisation of the body's immune system. This helps the body to rid itself  of foreign bodies such as toxins and viruses that may be causing the autoimmune disease.

How the Autoimmune Disorders Fever Therapy  Is Administered

The goal of the fever therapy or treatment is to increase the oral temperature to 101 to 103 degrees F, so that profuse sweating may occur. If the disease is due to a virus, the higher temperatures promote the phagocytic activity of the white blood cells, improve the defense mechanisms, and stimulate the immune system to normal function. If the disease is due to a toxin the treatment will assist in its removal through the process of sweating, phagocytosis, and increased urine production.

Equipment Needed For Autoimmune Disorders Fever Therapy
  • Basin of ice water
  • 2-4 washcloths
  • 2-4 towels
  • oral thermometer
  • Bath thermometer
  • Small electric fan for the face (optional)

  • Glass and straw for water.
The Autoimmune Disorders fever therapy or treatment is administered by having the patient lie down in preferably a bath tub. The following should be done to maintain to achieve the goal of an oral temperature of 101 to 103 degrees F.
  • Keep a thermometer in the patients mouth.
  • Give water generously by mouth.
  • Use two towels to cover the patient, one for the knees, and one for the shoulders.
  • A folded towel or plastic cushion may be used as a pillow for the head
  • Obtain a Obtain a 102-104 degree F. oral temperature and maintain it for 20-40 minutes, as tolerated.
  • When oral temperature goes above 100 degrees F. or the patient begins to sweat, keep the head very cool with icy cloths changed often.
  • Keep bath water 110-112 degrees F. while oral temperature is 102-104 degrees F. Do this by adding hot water.
  • End hot treatment with a tepid shower, brisk drying, one hour of bed rest with an ice pack on the forehead.
  • Prevent chilling after treatment.
  • Abort the treatment if the heart rate rises above 160 in a person under 50 years of age. Abort the treatment if the heart rate goes over 140 in a person over 50 years old.
