Camellia Health Benefits

Camellia is named after a Jesuit pharmacist, George Joseph Kamel. It is originally from China. The tea Camellia Sinensis tea is made from the shoot tips. Camellia Sinensis tea is an astringent, a stimulant nerve and cardiac tonic, for the digestion and fatigue. It is also applied externally to relieve insect bites and inflammations.

Scientific studies have shown that Camellia Sinensis tea inhibits tumour formation and growth, which may protect against some cancers. The aromatic buds and leaves contain flavonoids and vitamin and are bactericidal and used to treat stomach infections such as dysentery and gastroenteritis.
